Présentaion de l'éditeur :
"An octopus laying in a pool of ink, an agave strewn with styrofoam pellets, a girl looking through a video camera — Michel François has combined such diverse subjects in this book. Human beings and animals, organic and artificial objects made of all sorts of materials merge, while being looked at, gradually into a work of art which tells about growth and constriction, about insidious changes in nature and civilisation.
The plant within us — that's a universal and sensorial figure of thought. Something forces its way like the root of a tree: a living thing developing, man in his everyday life, the artist amidst a creative process. And "reality" takes shape incessantly while being looked at inquisitively. This volume includes both François' photo art and photos of François' art — his installations in museums and in public spaces which can be walked through and experienced haptically.
